Back Tax Help With Audits

The thing that usually gets people looking for back tax help is the dreaded audit.  But what exactly do you do when you get audited?  We have all heard the horror stories of the tax man wreaking havoc in people’s lives, so how do you prepare adequately for something like this?  Luckily, aside from our fantastic guide, we also thought we would provide a few tips for those who are facing this arduous process.

First of all, do not lie.  These people sniff out lies for a living, so what makes you think that you are going to get one by them?  All lying does is make things worse, just like mom always said.  What she did not tell you is that, if you lie, the IRS may use such unpleasant words as “fraud” when you meet with them, and then you need far more than back tax help–you need back tax representation.  Speaking of meeting with the IRS, do not invite them into your house or business.  Instead, go to their office and conduct the audit there.  This is not because they are bad people (at least, in theory), but because you do not want to give them any more information than is necessary.

The fact that you are reading this is a good sign that you like to get prepared, and that is good, because you are going to be doing a lot of that in preparation for your audit.  Contact the person who did your return and have them prepare records that justify the things they put on your return, and also to find out if they already sent you back anything.  Back tax help can be as simple as having these things prepared ahead of time.  However, we know that not everyone who receives an audit is going to end up in the super-organized category.

What you should never, ever, under any circumstances do, though, is ignore the tax notice.  Putting your head in the sand is not going to make the tax man go away, and when your head finally pops out, Uncle Sam will be standing there with his money bags looking way more angry than before.  The best back tax help we can offer is to at least do something constructive when presented with the issue at hand.  In some cases that may mean hiring a tax specialist, but many times this can be resolved with just a little knowledge and elbow grease.

In either event, and in some part related to being prepared, knowing your rights is one of the most important things you can do, and falls just underneath “for the love of all that is good in the world, do not ignore the notice!” in terms of importance.  Knowing your rights is one of the best back tax help tips that we can offer.  If you know your rights, you have a lot more power during the audit process, even if you have representation.  After all, it is hard to invoke your rights if you don’t know what they are.

Grant Guides or Loan Guide? The Difference is Distinct

The Washington Post published an article yesterday that we felt was almost exclusively a loan guide and not so much a grant guide, and was more than a little misleading.  The article was titled “How to hit up Uncle Sam for small business funding.”  The implication of the title is that there is more than one way to get government funding for a small business other than loans.  However, the article mentions grants twice, and there is a somewhat valid reason for that:  small businesses and for-profit companies do not qualify for federal grants.  So, what else is there?

Well, there are loans, and there are a lot of different kinds of loans and sources that the potential start-up can use to, well, start up their business.  Of course, these come with certain conditions and restrictions, but a grant guide would tell you the same ideas apply even if small businesses did qualify for grants.  Whenever the government is dealing with money that it owns, you can bet that they are going to keep track and want a record of every single penny, and nothing shy of that will suffice.  But, because loans are a different beast entirely, in many cases, they are actually the better choice.

The differences between grants and loans are about as different as toasters and horses.  Aside from both being “things”, there is not much else they share in common.  In the case of the former, everything basically stops at, “both involve the government giving money in some way.”  In other words, a grant guide will be of little use to those seeking a loan.  What most people do not realize is that grants are not simply “free government money.”  This money comes with conditions and record-keeping that accounts for every cent given.  And, contrary to popular belief, any remaining money has to be given back to the government at the end of the project (oh, and you need to provide a timeframe for when that would be).

With a loan, though, an amount is expected to be paid in specific amounts as specific times until it is paid off.  It is, for all intents and purposes, like a normal loan, except, as with anything involving the government, there is more red tape and paperwork to get through.  That said, though, since a grant guide is out of the question, a loan that helps you reach your goals and dreams is probably worth more than the hassle of getting through that extra stuff.  Fortunately, government loans tend to not be as restrictive in regards to the bean counting as grants are, which will allow you to focus more on your business than keeping up with the paperwork.

The good news, though, is that the article did provide some good guidelines for applying for a government loan.  We were just a bit miffed that it suggested there were other options when there aren’t.

How to get a scholarship? Look in the Right Places!

The question of how to get a scholarship when asked to our parents was generally answered with, “get straight A’s,” or in the case of our fathers, “be one heckuva football player.” And while we realize the validity of their answers was absolutely sound, the facts are that not everybody can be the star football player or the scholastic genius that colleges are going to offer a full ride scholarship too. Thus begs the questions, what is one to do when much of the needed information about scholarships is so hard to find? Guide to Government Grants; New York may be onto something

If common sense starts becoming more common in government, we may no longer need to offer our guide to government grants anymore. We are not exactly holding our breaths, but there is a lot of promise now coming out of New York. In a move that, for some reason, is shocking, New York announced that it was giving grant money to local governments that had a history of making the best use of that money. Why has it taken us so long to catch on to this basic nugget of wisdom?

While many in Washington are preparing for the end of the Bush-era tax cuts at the end of the year, New York is showing a different face. Whereas most state governments are looking to make up their budget deficits by spending less and taxing more, New York is choosing to spend the money more wisely. We can hardly blame other states. We never said “use common sense” in our guide to government grants, but in our defense, getting a grant is a confusing and esoteric process. Spending money in a sane and prudent matter is not exactly a hard concept to grasp.

Yet, this is the world we live in. We pay money to the government, and they dole it out to whoever meets certain requirements. This is all done in the name of our own good. Then we hear of government agencies blowing almost a million dollars for Las Vegas conventions and Columbian secret service prostitute scandals. Perhaps instead of a How to get a grant, we should be providing guides to ethical government spending. Actually, since New York seems to be catching on, maybe they can be the light-bearers on this one.

New York is not completely out of the woods, though. There are still certain conditions that apply, but this is a standard requirement to any grant and one we outline in our guide to government grants. The thing is, though, the timeframe should not be restricted to those who began their projects in 2010. Instead, the program should reach further back, and if that is at the expense of the amounts awarded to those receiving the grants, then so be it, but at least this sort of trial run can provide a wider view on how programs like this work in actuality instead of theory.

All in all, though, New York should be praised for its efforts in reforming the State’s philosophy on government spending. It is a basic and straight forward idea, but anything that helps improve government functionality is a boon. Hopefully, at some point, we will not need to offer our guide to government grants because the process will be so much more streamlined, but first things first. Learning how to spend money properly and efficiently is a far more important task than the means by which people and governments get grants. That alone should keep us busy for the foreseeable future, so we cross that bridge when we get there.

Child Support Reaches for the Stars

Child support and spousal support are a common thing that many people face.  Those who choose to disregard their obligations in this area face stiff repercussions both from society and from the courts.  In comparison to some of the payments that celebrities have to pay, no one really has an excuse to dodge their child support payments, as some of these sums are quite high.

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons was ordered by the Los Angeles Superior Court to pay $40,000 a month until his two daughters are 19 and a half.  Kimora Lee Simmons, Russell’s ex-wife has sole custody of the two girls, ages 9 and 6.  We understand the need for child support payments to support a child, but $80,000 a month seems, well, “excessive” is probably the nicest way to say it.  But, Russell is handling it well, stating that, so long as he has money, his daughters will have money too.  It kind of puts things into perspective when a guy can afford to fork over $80 thousand a month and be happy about it.

Rapper Nas is reported to have to pay more than $51,000 a month.  Although this is a combination of spousal support and child support, the rapper has since had his payments halved by the courts.  The singer was at one point married to the “Milkshake” singer, which makes the couple’s divorce more than a little bit ironic considering that rumors of infidelity are what ended the couple’s marriage.  Nas commented that the amount he was expected to pay was more than what a lot of his fellow hip-hoppers were making annually, and although it has not been smooth sailing, it looks like the payments are current.

Not all celebs who have monstrous child support payments are involved in hip-hop, though.  New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur is looking at significant payment each year totaling $500,000.  If the Devils win the Stanley Cup this year, it will help soften the blow, but that is unlikely, as the Los Angeles Kings are expected to come out on top.  According to those representing the parties, the lifestyle that was established during the marriage necessitated the alimony and child support payments reaching the levels that they did.  Four children necessitating $500,000 a year per child seems a bit much, but at least there is an expiration to it–originally, it was indefinitely.

To wrap it up, and to show that women can do anything that men can do (in some cases, better), although Britney Spears has a comparatively low payment of $20,00 a month, but she is not the recipient.  No, Kevin Federline receives $20,000 a month for child support payments after the erratic behavior the pop star showed landed her in the hospital and her father being named the conservator of her estate.  Federline has always been teased by the media, but frankly, we are not aware of any other guys who had kids with a pop icon and now gets twenty grand a month.

How to Adopt a Child? Online Ebook Streamlines Process

With news coming from China and North Korea regarding some human rights abuses, and in particular female infanticide, those looking for information on How to adopt a child are looking more and more towards the far east.  It  makes sense for those wanting to adopt a child. While many have different reasons as to the race and sex of the child they are looking to adopt, the facts are that many looking to adopt at the same time are interested in potentially saving a life.  Given some of the recent information about conditions in China and North Korean and some of the more gregarious abuses of females, our hearts go out to those looking to make a difference.

But for those looking for online information regarding the information can be murky at best and sometime outright incorrect at worst. Finding specific information on How to Adopt a Child can be a lesson in frustration and futility.  We lament that fact that the process of finding information on How to Adopt a Child may actually resulted in an experience so stressful and absurd that some prospective adoptive parents may actually have changed their minds about wanting to adopt. And that in itself is a tragedy of immense proportions for the great many children looking at the very real prospect of a dreary future.

Some recent statistics suggest that 13% of adopted children are foreign born. Of that 13% close to 1/3rd are children who were born in either Korea or China.  We suspect that as more attention is placed on the human rights abuses in these countries that this number will surely grow within the next few years. The question of “how to adopt a child” suddenly becomes a much more daunting choice and decision. It is not uncommon for childless couple to want a child of their own race for obvious reasons. Some may be uncomfortable with the fact that raising a child of a different ethnic background may result in unwanted or persistent questioning.

The truth is, there should be no parameters on those who are looking to adopt. Any parent who has adopted a child is a hero in our book. Regardless if they adopted in the US or went to another country to adopt a child, giving a child a chance to live in a loving, caring environment is truly the most admirable act any human can display. If you ever wondered “how to adopt a child” considering all of the options is certainly recommended. You cannot ever have too much information when it comes to making life’s important decisions and adopting a child is arguably one of the most important decisions you will ever make.

Graceforms.com is proud to offer information on How to Adopt a Child in our line of online adoption guide and ebooks.  Getting information about adoption, paying back taxes, and government grants does not have to confusing. Graceforms is the premier source of online DIY ebooks and self help guide downloads.

Some recent reports out of Rhode Island suggest 17,000 custodial parents are owe an estimated $292 in back child support from former partners and spouses. College Scholarships for Some Strange Hobbies

Although we are in graduation season already, we at GraceForms.com thought it would be a great opportunity to prove that, if you can think of it, there is a college scholarship for it.  No, really, just about everything under the sun has at least some sort of strange or obscure scholarship opportunity attached to it.  Everything from speaking “fake” languages to having a rocking milk moustache can be your key to higher education.  Don’t believe us?  Here’s some proof that, no matter what your interests are or where your talents lie, there is something out there that applies to you.

Perhaps the weirdest of all is the duck calling scholarship.  This strange college scholarship comes courtesy of Stuttgart, Kansas, and honors the city’s duck calling champions and manufacturers, and is raised through a variety of duck-related industries.  Shrug if you may, but the first place winner gets $2000 while the runners-up receive anywhere from $1000 to $500 each.  Sure, it might seem a little ridiculous, but if it helps get you in the door, and it helps keep your wallet a little fatter, then we might have to start buffing up on our duck calling skills ourselves.

Many people think that they have an eye for fashion.  If you believe that you fall into that category and tend to be the creative type as well, then the National Make It Yourself with Wool Competition is a great opportunity to earn a college scholarship Why wool?  Because the competition is sponsored by the American Sheep Industry Association.  The only catch is that you need to make something out of either 100% wool or a 60% wool blend.  Maybe grandma was on to something all those years.  Just be aware that you are also going to have to model the garment yourself as well.

If you have never heard of the SAMMY, then you are not alone.  SAMMY stands for the Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year, and it is exactly what it sounds like.  Winning this college scholarship is determined by academic performance, athletic excellence, leadership, community service, and milk experience.  And it is not a paltry sum of money they give you, either.  Instead, each of the 25 winners receives $7,500.  Suddenly lactose intolerance looks like a much more debilitating condition, but we are sure that there is a scholarship program for those of you out there too.  You just have to look hard enough.

Ever hear of the Klingons?  Yes, as in the Star Trek Klingons.  Well, Trekkies, you are in luck.  The Klingon Language Institute offers a $500 college scholarship
to anyone studying languages, and no, fluency in Klingon is not needed for qualification.  Although many do not know, there are a number of people that speak actually do speak Klingon.  Lord of the Rings or Tolkien fans are probably aware that Klingon is not the only “made up” language developed from pop culture.  Klingon, Black Speech (the language of the orcs), and Elvish are all actual, legitimate languages, if only used by the most geeky among us.

Pay Back Taxes; Some Companies in Need of Back Tax Help

We recently spoke of some notable celebrities who had some trouble for failure to Pay Back Taxes. We stumbled across a story today about a company that was financed by US tax dollars (for the somewhat paltry sum of $33 million) and not only did the company go bankrupt but now still owes $1.5million in back taxes. Raser Technologies was given a $33 million dollar grant in 2010 to build a “green” power plant in Utah only to collapse like a house of cards amidst accusations of political shenanigans and financial impropriety.  While we won’t get political it did give us an idea to explore further some well known or high profile companies that have had problems paying back taxes.

Continuing our list, we would be remiss to not go with some very low hanging fruit of Warren Buffet and his little mom and pop known as Berkshire Hathaway.  And after reading this,  private citizens looking for help to pay back taxes probably do not feel quite so bad, provided the amount owed in back taxes is less than one billion dollars. According to Berkshire Hathaway’s official 2010 report the company has been in a struggle with the IRS dating back to 2002.One website even went as so far to speculate that Berkshire Hathaway may owe as much as one billion dollars. Without looking at the record book-we are positive this may be the largest back tax amount owed in US History.

Zuccotti Park made headlines recently as the occupy Wall Street movement chose Zuccotti Park as their official headquarters and rallying point of the movement.  Those who looked deeper into Zuccotti park and more importantly, the owners of Zuccotti park discovered that park owner Brookfield Properties and its parent company owe the city more the $139,000 in their failure to pay back taxes. We could probably list just a few of the ironies of the whole sordid affair. Merely the gall and audacity of those facts alone speaks volumes.

On a similar note, one county in Michigan decided to take on a true heavyweight when it was discovered that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were not complying with tax laws when a Fannie and Freddie owned property was sold.  Oakland County treasurer Andy Meisner discovered that Fannie and Freddie’s refusal to pay back taxes had resulted in the loss of $1.6 million to the County and $10.8 million to the state.   “We think it’s a pretty strong case,” Meisner was on record as saying. “There are some very inconvenient truths that Fanny and Freddie are working around.”  Fannie and Freddie claimed that as a government entity they were excluded from regulations that extended to private companies…even though Freddie and Fannie are publicly traded companies that actually has the words “a private company serving a public purpose” on its own website.

Something tell us that we are just scratching the surface as to some major companies and corporations that are failing to pay back taxes. Sadly time and space limitations are prohibiting us from doing more research on the subject. However, we can say that for those looking for help for information and online ebooks providing information on how to pay back taxes;  GraceForms.com is your premiere source for back tax, college scholarship, and how to get a grant information.

How to Get a Grant Guide from Grace Forms

It never ceases to amuse us how there seems to be an air of mystery regarding How to get a Grant. Seems like the government must have millions sitting around simply waiting for someone to submit a request on a three by five index card and thus be awarded a windfall. The truth is always in the middle and in this case the answer is “Yes,” there are legitimate ways to go about winning a government grant at your behest. The trick therein is finding out to qualify for these funds and what is the quickest way to make it happen.

Some other misinformation directly relating to scholarships and grants is what type of categories are available for those looking for assistance.  Unlike scholarships, grants can not only include educational pursuits but also invention development, business assistance, even grants for pursuing artistic endeavors are available for those who know how to get a grant and more importantly-request them.  There are even grants just for general living expenditures and living expenses. Single Mother? Without looking at the official guide to government grants we are willing to be there are hundreds if not thousands of grants for single mothers and working mothers available. That in itself is almost the beauty of the grant….there are no parameters to who, what, and how to qualify.

We know there officially well over 30,000 foundation grant sources ready to make funds available for those who qualify. We have heard that there are grants specifically created for people who are left handed, people who have red hair, vegetarians, people who are good at welding, and believe it or not people who are prolific duck callers. Yes you read that correctly, when you ask yourself the question of  “How to get a grant?” first ask yourself am I a left handed, red headed, vegetarian welder?

Of course we are being a bit silly but it only goes to emphasize that almost anyone can qualify for a grant no matter who they are or what they are looking for.  Also of note is the wide and vast array of grant types. This is important and the sheer number of grants can be a daunting and overwhelming process. Being able to pinhole a specific type of grant will help to cut through the research and greatly speed up the process of “How to get a grant.”  Our Grant Guide can give all of the information you need and more to see exactly what you may qualify for and what is the best, most efficient way to get the funds you need for  the reasons you need it.

There are different types of grants that can come from different sources. When we ask the question of “How to get a grant” we never consider are there Federal and State grants? Are there City and County Grants?  We empathize with those in need of a government or state grant as getting the critical information is not easy to find. We love the idea of millions downloading our online Ebook and cutting through the potatoes to get to the meat, as they say. Our online grant guide gives timely information on grants making foundations you never knew existed.
